Push up
The Push up is core exercise every athlete should know how to do. Would not believe how many people want to be a pro wrestler, but can't do 10 push ups. At wrestling school, a minimum of 50 push ups is required. Here is the instruction you need to have the knowledge to complete and conquer the proper push up. It's very effective and a free form of exercise.
Start in push up position, with your hands shoulder width apart. Palms flat, body straight and stiff as a board, head up, on your toes. Make sure you don't stick your ass up in the air, the higher you raise your butt, you work more of your shoulders than chest. Now your in perfect push up position. (Wait for your instructor to start)
Concentrate on your breathing. Inhale when going down and exhale when pushing up. Get a rhythm going, lower your body slowly, get the oxygen to your brain, then explode up (exhale) with everything you got out.
When you think the push ups are getting the best of you and you can't possibly do any more. Flex your legs. That's a tip my high school football coach gave me. (Palisades High School - Stadium by the Sea - Starting Center, second string inside line backer. I hated offensive line. That's why I opted out for Pro Wrestling) When you flex your legs it takes pressure off your chest, consider it your personal spotter. Try it. Let me know what you think. Don't forget to BREATHE!
Now that you have the tips and tools you need, it's time to start your push ups. In push up position, make sure to go all the way down to the floor. Break the plane ( make sure your back goes below your elbows) at Santino Bros. Wrestling Academy we teach you to treat yourself, don't cheat yourself.
